What we can measure — and what no one can
An honest, live picture of your AI visibility — clearly split into what is measured, what is estimated, and what is still unknown.
The problem
Why this gap stays open
Right now you cannot measure AI search at all. There is no AI-sourced traffic in your analytics, and AEO is not in anyone’s brief.
Every vendor will tell you they track AI traffic perfectly. That is the tell. No one can, yet.
How it works
The mechanics
- 01
Track citations directly
We count real citations from live engine answers: how often each engine names you, for which prompts, and against whom.
- 02
Measure share of voice and trends
AI share of voice versus competitors, branded versus unbranded visibility, and AI-referral trends over time.
- 03
Label every number honestly
Real numbers and modelled numbers are marked as such. Citations are counted from live answers; crawls and AI-referred visits are modelled until server logs are connected.
- 04
Deliver it live
It's never a PDF once a week — it's a live dashboard you can open any time, not a static report that is stale on arrival.
Definitions
- AEO
- Answer Engine Optimization — getting your brand into the answers AI engines generate, not just the classic list of links.
- AI Share of Voice
- Your share of all brand mentions across the AI answers we track, versus your competitors.
- Measured / estimated / unknown
- Our labels for data we count directly, data we model, and data the engines do not expose.
What you see
What lands in your dashboard
- Citations per engine — measured, counted from live answers
- AI share of voice vs competitors, branded vs unbranded visibility
- AI-referral trends over time — estimated until your server logs connect
- Total AI traffic — unknown, and marked unknown rather than filled in
What we don’t promise
No one can reliably track all AI traffic today — the engines deliberately hide their agents, and referral data is incomplete by design. So we are explicit about three buckets: measured (citations we count from live answers), estimated (crawls and AI visits modelled until logs connect), and unknown (what the engines simply do not expose). That third bucket is where the instrument ends. We show you the edge rather than draw past it.

FAQ
Questions about this
Can you even track AI traffic?
Not perfectly — no one can, and anyone who says otherwise is overselling. We deploy the best measurement available and separate measured, estimated, and unknown, so you always know how solid each number is.
How is this different from a monthly report?
It's never a PDF once a week — it's a live dashboard. You see citations, share of voice, and trends as they change, not a snapshot that is already out of date.
